Overview

The DDI Mexico offices were opened in 1995. Today we have two offices—one in Monterrey and one in Mexico City, where we have an Acceleration Center® and training facilities. Our associates in Puerto Rico and Colombia help us extend our reach into those regions.

Our consultants are high-caliber people, thoroughly versed in DDI programs, who have a strong background in Human Resources with major corporations. For implementations at the global level, we have an advantage in that most of our consultants are bilingual or even trilingual, so that we have been able to deliver our services throughout Latin America, as well as in Spanish, Portuguese and English speaking countries.

Our areas of specialization are human resources systems, design and implementation of selection systems, assessment centers, training, and succession management.

Our Strengths & Accomplishments

Being the Best

Even though Roche Diagnostics is one of the top 10 pharmaceutical companies in the world, in Puerto Rico they wanted to be better. Roche Diagnostics Puerto Rico recognized that leadership in a tight economy requires forward thinking and strong individual leadership. If they wanted to continue competing as a company they needed to improve their leadership skills to better leverage employee talent, attract the best talent, and become an employer of choice.

With this business need in mind, DDI worked with Roche to identify a comprehensive training program focused on the unique set of leader competencies the organization needed to develop in order to make their vision a reality.

As part of the solution, leaders went through six training modules, such as interaction skills to handle change, making effective decisions, and resolving conflict.

Three months after all leaders went through the program, DDI conducted research to determine the behavior change. According to observers (managers, facilitators, coworkers and hourly personnel), leaders had improved their skills by 25 percentage points.

Roche’s dedication and support to leadership development has helped them achieve strategic goals of higher productivity, less conflict and better quality. That year, Roche Diagnostics Puerto Rico was selected as the Number One Employer by a leading Human Resources group.

Integration Process: For Managers

Based on the need to maintain an alignment between business and human resources processes to allow Wyeth to achieve its strategic objectives and prepare for the future, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals Mexico recently asked DDI Latin America for a Manager Integration Process. The process needed to meet specific objectives for improving the efficiency of each of the members in the executive teams. This process was conducted with the entire executive and leadership team to increase teamwork, trust, conflict resolution, valuing diversity, and others. For this project, DDI used different assessment tools such as Global Leadership Inventories (designed to measure personal leadership attributes), executive interviews, and individual feedback sessions—eventually in each organizational area. Action plans, based upon the participant’s awareness of his/her positive and inefficient behaviors, were developed to ensure application in specific job situations. In 2004, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals Mexico has improved employee morale and satisfaction and has received well-deserved acknowledgments, including "One of the Best Places to Work," awarded by the Great Place to Work Institute.
